SUBWAYS & TUNNELS

HELPING OUR CLIENTS MITIGATE RISK WITH MONITORING THEY CAN TRUST.

As the landscape of urban environments change, above ground construction activities can impact subsurface tunnels and transit systems. When these structures fall within the zone of influence, on-site monitoring and pre-construction surveys are required and optical or crack monitoring may be required.

The team at Integrated Geotechnical Solutions (IGS) has experience and a proven TRACK record when working with organizations like the MTA. We’re proud to be MTA track safety certified and OSHA-40 compliant.

We get the job done right, the first time! Our surveyors will measure and layout the location of the tunnel relative to the job site. This guarantees the monitoring locations are nearest to the job site. All equipment is installed by a team of experienced IGS technicians to eliminate downtime.

ON-SITE MONITORING

Organizations like the MTA, require an inspector on-site at all times. Trained IGS technicians review the equipment and PPV readings at scheduled intervals throughout the day to ensure your project stays within criteria limits.

At the end of each day, a report of all the readings for each installed monitor is provided to stake holders.

IGS conducts pre- and post-condition inspections to document the visible condition of the tunnel prior to and after nearby construction activities have taken place. These inspections provide vital evidence in the event complaints arise.

IGS will view and discuss the alleged damages. They are photographed then compared to the seismic data and vibration criteria. At the end, an opinion is rendered on whether damages were caused by or attributed to the seismic activity.
