SITE RISK ASSESSMENTS

A site risk assessment is used to investigate a wide variety of risks associated with the anticipated blasting activity. The assessment will review the probability of litigation, geology, blast planning, political environment, weather, infrastructure, neighbor relations, etc.

IGS technicians locate all above and below ground structures adjacent to the quarry, such as residences, pipelines, utility lines and water wells. This ensures the operation is aware of all structures in the zone of influence, prior to commencing blasting.

The final deliverables will be a formal report of the risk assessment outlining the grading procedures, map with a database of all identified structures and suggested improvements. The risk assessment is designed to bring forward some of the anticipated issues, techniques and long-standing practices that could possibly present risks.
